New Mexico Forward is focused on practical steps to expand political choice and competition in our state. Our goal is to help Independent (Decline to State; DTS) and disaffected Democratic and Republican voters and candidates to participate in the 2026 election cycle, reduce the number of uncontested electoral races, and ensure that New Mexicans have real options to choose from at the ballot box this November.

NEW MEXICO FORWARD'S 2026 PRIORITIES:

• Inform Independent voters how to engage in the political process.

• Recruit approximately 12 Forward candidates for county commission and state representative races.

• Provide training to improve candidate effectiveness and increase the odds of winning elections.

• Endorse select Democratic and Republican Party candidates in primaries so that independent voters know which legacy party candidates are committed to working across the aisle.

• Recruit volunteers to spread the word in their communities that there is a viable party option beyond the two legacy parties.

• Become the #2 political party in New Mexico by focusing Forward candidate recruitment efforts on the 80% of unopposed political races that will have no general-election competition.

• Give New Mexico voters more choices at the ballot box.
